    ‘Stop the noise and stick to facts’ – Kofi Adams admonishes SWAG at 50th Anniversary

    Sports activities Minister Kofi Adams has issued a agency name to the Sports activities Writers Affiliation of Ghana (SWAG) to raise requirements of accuracy, stability and accountable journalism because the affiliation marks its fiftieth anniversary.

    Addressing the ceremony in Accra, the Minister was candid in his enchantment. “Cease the noise and follow information,” he declared, urging sports activities journalists to prioritise fact over sensationalism.

    He cautioned that irresponsible reporting harms athletes and establishments. “Once we get it improper, we don’t solely harm reputations. We erode belief, discourage followers, kill sponsorship and set again years of effort,” he said.

    He stated SWAG’s golden jubilee ought to symbolise renewal. “This second should remind us that sports activities journalism just isn’t leisure. It’s a nationwide growth instrument,” the Minister emphasised.

    Calling for deeper analysis and context, Kofi Adams added: “In an age of quick information and louder headlines, the position of the sports activities journalist is to chop by way of the noise with accuracy, honesty and professionalism.”

    He urged practitioners to safeguard the sector’s integrity. “Our athletes deserve that honesty. Our directors welcome that transparency. Our future is determined by that stability.”
