Tema Police Arrest Suspect for Illegal Possession of Narcotics
The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect, Sophia Amankwa, aged 29, for illegal possession of gear suspected to be narcotic medication at Dogo Junction/Ada within the Larger Accra Area.
In line with a press release signed by ASP Dede Dzakpasu, Head of Public Affairs on the Tema Command, on twenty fifth June 2025, the police intercepted a tipper truck with registration quantity GW 9768-12, whose driver had fled. A search of the car revealed 3,900 compressed and cello-taped slabs in 52 sacks, suspected to be narcotic medication (Indian hemp).
ASP Dede Dzakpasu additional acknowledged that preliminary investigations disclosed that suspect Sophia Amankwa is the proprietor of the substances and is presently in police custody, helping with investigations.
“Efforts are underway to arrest the motive force of the car and different accomplices” she added.
