    ‘This is not a time for division’ – Pres. Mahama tearfully appeals in first speech after tragic crash

    President John Dramani Mahama has made a heartfelt attraction to Ghanaians to unite in grief and present solidarity, quite than interact in division or political point-scoring, following the demise of eight (8) people in final Wednesday’s army helicopter crash within the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Area.

    These eight (8) people devoted their lives to Ghana’s progress. That their closing moments have been spent in service is a testomony to their unwavering dedication. We’ve got misplaced a few of our nation’s brightest minds.

    He continued:

    This can be a second of shared heartbreak — a time to replicate on the preciousness of life, the sacrifices of public service, and our gratitude for many who dedicate themselves to the well-being of Ghana.

    President Mahama revealed that an Investigative Board of Inquiry has been established to find out the reason for the crash, assuring the general public of a full and clear investigation. He stated:

    As we mourn, questions on the reason for this tragedy are pure and vital. I need to guarantee the households and the nation that the Ghana Armed Forces has initiated a full and clear investigation into the circumstances of this crash.

    An Investigative Board of Inquiry has been set as much as decide the reason for the crash. The flight information and cockpit voice recorders have been retrieved.     Funeral Preparations

    On Saturday, ninth August at 5:00 p.m., the nation will collect on the forecourt of the State Home for an Night of Reflection and Memorial in honour of the departed.

    Books of condolence can be opened concurrently on the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Setting, Science and Expertise, Ministry of International Affairs, Ghana Armed Forces Headquarters, Nationwide Democratic Congress Headquarters, and NADMO Head Workplace from Sunday, tenth August to Thursday, 14th August 2025.
