“Given the vast public curiosity on this matter, what can we lose whether it is heard publicly?” he requested.

His remarks come amid rising requires the proceedings involving Justice Torkornoo—at the moment suspended over allegations of misconduct—to be held within the open, with some demanding that the hearings be broadcast stay.

The Chief Justice herself, by means of her authorized group, has made a proper request for stay protection as a part of her authorized problem.

Although the Supreme Court docket has beforehand dominated that such hearings be performed in digital camera (behind closed doorways), Mr Bomfeh argues that this could not essentially imply whole non-disclosure to the general public.

Mr. Bomfeh emphasised that the dealing with of this case goes past the destiny of a single judicial officer. As a substitute, he stated, it strikes on the coronary heart of Ghana’s constitutional framework.
