    Wontumi to honour CID’s invitation today

    Barring any unexpected circumstances, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Celebration (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, extensively often known as Chairman Wontumi, will honour an invite from the Legal Investigations Division (CID) of the Ghana Police Service at this time, Could 26, 2025.

    Wontumi’s lawyer, Kwame Adom Appiah, confirmed this in an interview with Accra-based Citi Information, pledging their readiness.

    “We’re practising democracy. Wontumi is just not somebody who can disguise from the cameras. He isn’t somebody who’s going to run away. He has investments in Ghana, and he isn’t going anyplace. If you need him any time or day, you’re going to get him. Now we have not performed something felony, and we’re not afraid of dealing with them,” he said.

    This comes after an unsuccessful try by a joint workforce of Nationwide Safety operatives and cops to arrest Chairman Wontumi at his residence in Kumasi on Friday, Could 23.

    Chairman Wontumi was initially scheduled to seem on Wednesday, Could 21, 2025, however he rescheduled to 10:00 am on Could 26, 2025, because of what he described as unwell well being.

    The invasion of his residence was extensively condemned, with many questioning the motive regardless of his willingness to cooperate with the safety businesses.

    Reacting to the incident, he claimed it was a plot to border him, alleging that his sources revealed the safety operatives deliberate to plant weed, cocaine, or gold in his residence to implicate him.
