The Minister for Works, Housing and Water Sources, Kenneth Gilbert Adjei has outlined measures put in place to improve drainage in Odododiodio with the intention to mitigate perennial flooding.
He disclosed that the numerous flood dangers confronted by the Odododiodio Constituency, was as a consequence of its topographic vulnerability, siltation and strong waste accumulation, and dense casual growth patterns.
The Minister disclosed this on the ground of the Home when he was answering questions on steps the Ministry is taking to improve drainage techniques in Odododiodio to mitigate perennial flooding, notably in low-lying areas similar to Agbogbloshie township.
In response to him, the Ghana Hydrological Authority (HYDRO) is working with Accra Metropolitan Meeting (AMA) beneath the Higher Accra Resilient and Built-in Growth (GARID) framework to establish precedence drainage channels inside the Constituency for engineering redesign.
These embrace detailed assessments of present drainage infrastructure and structural enchancment, which can deal with bottle necks with acceptable concrete lining, culvert enlargement, and inlet or outlet upgrades.
