    Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has addressed the controversy surrounding the captain’s armband throughout Ghana’s 5-0 win over Chad within the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

    Addo acknowledged that he didn’t see the armband being ‘left on the bottom’, contradicting claims that gamers rejected it.

    The incident occurred within the second half when Jordan Ayew, the newly appointed captain, was substituted within the eightieth minute.

    Ayew handed the armband to Alexander Djiku, who then handed it to Thomas Partey, insisting the Arsenal star wore the armband.

    Partey consulted the bench earlier than placing it on.

    He was changed within the 83rd minute by Lawrence Agyekum. On his method off, he tried at hand the armband to Djiku, who declined once more and as a substitute handed it to Mohammed Kudus, who wore it for the remainder of the match.
