    T-bills: Government misses target despite fall in interest rates

    The federal government treasury payments have been undersubscribed for the primary time in about three weeks regardless of a discount in rates of interest.

    In line with public sale outcomes by the Financial institution of Ghana, the Treasury acquired roughly GH¢6.8 billion, in comparison with a goal of GH¢8.58 billion.

    Nearly all of the bids got here from the 91-day invoice.

    A bit of over GH¢5.02 billion, representing 72.9% of the bids, have been tendered for the 3-month invoice. The uptake was GH¢4.99 billion.

    For the 182-day invoice, GH¢1.372 billion of the bids have been tendered. The bids accepted have been estimated to the tune of GH¢1.237 million.

    However, GH¢490.41 million have been tendered for the 364-day invoice. About GH¢452 million have been accepted.

    In the meantime, the yield on the 91-day invoice went down by 9.0 foundation factors to 10.20%.

    That of the 182-day invoice additionally fell to 11.54% from 12.35% the prior week.

    Equally, the yield on the 364-day invoice decreased by 14 foundation factors to 13.10%.
