    Dr Shafic Suleman named acting Executive Secretary of PURC

    President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr Shafic Suleman because the Performing Govt Secretary of the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC). The choice is in accordance with Part 33 (1) of the Public Utilities Regulatory Fee Act, 1997 (Act 538).

    The appointment, nevertheless, is pending approval by the Board in session with the Public Companies Fee.

    In a press release confirming the appointment, dated third February, PURC affirmed its utmost assist for the brand new Govt Secretary, pledging to fulfil the President’s vision for the electricity, water, and natural gas sectors.

    It added:

    The Public Utilities Regulatory Fee stays dedicated to defending the curiosity of Shoppers in addition to Utility Service Suppliers and the assorted stakeholders within the Ghanaian energy and water sectors.

    Profile of Dr Shafic Suleman

    Dr Shafic Suleman, PhD, MSc, BA, LLB, ERP, is a Senior Lecturer on the Institute for Oil and Fuel Research, College of Cape Coast, Ghana. Dr Suleman specialises in vitality and sustainability, vitality and petroleum economics, vitality coverage and legislation, local weather change, and vitality finance and threat administration. He has been concerned in educating, analysis, and consultancy companies in vitality and associated fields.

    Dr Suleman holds a PhD in Vitality and Sustainability from De Montfort College in Leicester, UK. He’s a licensed Vitality Threat Skilled (ERP) from the International Affiliation of Threat Professionals (GARP-USA) and has an MSc in Vitality Administration from Robert Gordon College, Aberdeen, UK.
