    Ghana must value cultural assets beyond economic worth – Kobby Mensah

    The Appearing CEO of Ghana Tourism Growth Firm Restricted (GTDC), Professor Kobby Mensah, has referred to as for a structured strategy to valuing Ghana’s cultural belongings, together with cocoa, folklore, festivals, and artefacts.  

    He argued that whereas Ghana had benefited from cocoa’s financial contributions, it lacked formal recognition of its cultural and historic price.

    These are; Funding in Tourism Bodily Infrastructure, Creating world-class tourism websites and amenities; Funding in Human Capital, Strengthening capability constructing throughout the tourism sector; Funding in Cultural Property, Selling and preserving Ghana’s wealthy cultural heritage, and Funding in Expertise and Innovation, Leveraging digital transformation to reinforce tourism experiences. 

    The Nationwide Chocolate Week initiative aimed to extend native consumption of cocoa merchandise, highlighting Ghana’s management within the international cocoa business, and creating new financial alternatives for native companies.  

    It mentioned: “By linking tourism with cocoa promotion, Ghana seeks to strengthen its model id on the worldwide stage.” 

    Prof Mensah’s advocacy for a structured valuation of Ghana’s cultural belongings aligned with nationwide and international conversations on heritage conservation and sustainable tourism.  

    As Ghana innovates in tourism and cultural preservation, business leaders and policymakers are calling for strategic approaches to make sure the nation’s heritage belongings are preserved and maximised for long-term socio-economic advantages, the assertion famous.
