    Put in place stringent safety measures to prevent future hooliganism acts – MP for Berekum West tells GFA

    The Member of Parliament for Berekum West, Dickson Duah, has charged the Ghana Soccer Affiliation (GFA) and the Nationwide Sports activities Authority (NSA) to take important steps wanted to make sure there isn’t any repetition of hooliganism within the nation’s soccer sooner or later.

    His feedback come following the acts of violence which noticed the demise of Asante Kotoko fan Francis ‘Nana Pooley’ Frimpong on the Nana Koromansah II Stadium on February 5.

    Pooley met his premature demise as he was stabbed to demise within the recreation involving Nsoatreman and Kotoko in Nsoatre.

    Following the incident, there was an analogous scenario in Elmina over the weekend throughout the Division One League recreation between Elmina Sharks and Swedru All Blacks which the latter claimed all three factors.

    Talking in parliament on Wednesday, Duah, known as on the Ghana FA to place in place acceptable measures to discourage people who find themselves normally concerned in acts of hooliganism.

    “I urge the Ghana Soccer Affiliation and the Nationwide Sports activities Authority to place in place stringent security measures to forestall such occurrences sooner or later,” he mentioned.

    “This consists of enhanced safety at stadiums, strict enforcement of disciplinary actions towards violent conduct and likewise intensified public training on sportsmanship.”

    He used the chance to increase his condolence to the household of the deceased Kotoko fan.

    The league stays suspended as investigations into the incident proceed.

    The GFA introduced an enhanced Matchday Security and Safety Protocol which incorporates the appointment of a Security and Safety Officer and the set up of CCTV cameras at numerous stadia.
