The Bono Regional Police Headquarters has taken Ignatius Baffour Awuah, proprietor and financier of Nsoatreman FC, into custody following violent disturbances throughout a Ghana Premier League match, in keeping with Nyirah Energy Sports activities.

The previous Minister of Employment and Labour Relations and ex-member of Parliament for Sunyani West Constituency has been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit homicide.

The incident occurred on Sunday through the Matchday 19 fixture between Nsoatreman FC and Asante Kotoko on the Nana Kronmansah Park.

The sport descended into chaos as gamers and officers engaged in bodily confrontations, culminating within the tragic loss of life of an Asante Kotoko supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, extensively often called “Pooley.”

Frimpong was reportedly stabbed to loss of life by unidentified assailants through the unrest.

Authorities have launched an investigation to convey all perpetrators to justice.
