    Guinea-Bissau’s President Umaro Sissoco Embalo threatened to expel a political mission despatched to his nation by the Financial Neighborhood of West African States (ECOWAS), the political and financial bloc stated on Sunday.

    Embalo, who chaired ECOWAS from mid-2022 to mid-2023, stated on February 23 that presidential and legislative elections wouldn’t be held till November 30.

    ECOWAS stated in a press release on Sunday it had deployed a mission from February 21 to twenty-eight along with the United Nations Workplace for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS) to assist attain a consensus on the best way to conduct an election this yr.
