The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Improvements, has launched an investigation right into a cybersecurity breach that affects 5,700 clients of Cell Telecommunications Community (MTN) Ghana.
In accordance with the Ministry, it’s working intently with the Cyber Safety Authority (CSA), the Nationwide Communications Authority (NCA), and the Information Safety Fee (DPC), to evaluate the extent of the breach and determine the potentially affected clients.
A press assertion launched by the Ministry disclosed that investigators will decide whether or not the breach originated from the Cell Community Operator, and urged clients to stay calm as they work to resolve the problem and supply updates to the general public.

“This collaboration goals to ascertain the extent of the breach and be sure that necessary measures are taken to guard buyer information. The Ministry will be sure that affected clients are protected per information safety legal guidelines,” the assertion assured.
The breach, reported on April 28, has led to fast collaboration with key regulatory our bodies to evaluate and mitigate the scenario.
