The Asante Akropong Circuit Courtroom within the Atwima Nwabiagya North District, has sentenced a mason to 4 years imprisonment for stealing at Adankwame, close to Akropong.
Prince Anim Cobbina, 28, pleaded responsible and was convicted on his personal plea.
Police Chief Inspector Ruth Gborson instructed the courtroom that the complainants Emmanuel Amo, an electrical welder, and Angelina Atia, a consuming bar attendant, have been residents of Adankwame whereas the convict hailed from Kwahu Abeti within the Japanese Area.
The courtroom, presided by Mrs Philomena Asiedu, heard that Amo detected that the metallic gate to his welding store was broken, and his wheelbarrow, three head pans and different objects, all valued at GH¢5,000.00, have been stolen.
Chief Insp Gborson said that Amo reported the theft to the Akropong police, and on the identical day, Angelina Atia additionally reported the theft of her gasoline cylinder, a gallon of akpeteshie drink, and different objects all valued at GH¢1,000.00, from her store.
The prosecution mentioned the convict was noticed conveying the stolen objects in a wheelbarrow and was arrested.
Chief Insp Gborson mentioned the accused admitted the offence in his warning statement and led the police to the place he stole and hid the objects. —GNA
