The Minority in Parliament has strongly criticised the federal government and Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, over the non-payment of key statutory funds, describing the state of affairs as a gross violation of monetary rules and a critical menace to native improvement.
Addressing journalists in Parliament, Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, lamented that vital statutory funds—together with the District Assemblies Widespread Fund (DACF), Social Funding Fund (SIF), Nationwide Well being Insurance coverage Scheme (NHIS), Ghana Training Belief Fund (GETFund), and second-quarter parliamentary releases—haven’t been honoured, regardless of constitutional necessities mandating quarterly disbursements.
He argued that the delay contravenes Act 963, which compels the federal government to make well timed funds to help decentralization and make sure the clean functioning of important providers.
