    Producer price inflation hits 28.5% in January 2025

    The year-on-year inflation charge at ex-factory costs for all items and providers hit 28.5% in January 2025, from 26.1% recorded in December 2024.

    The month-on-month producer inflation between December 2024 and January 2025 was 3.6%, greater than December 2024.

    The Producer Value Inflation (PPI) within the business sector, excluding the development sector elevated from 40.2% in December 2024 to 43.7% in January 2025.

    The speed within the development sector additionally elevated to 29.8% in January 2025. Within the Providers sector, the speed was 7.7% in January 2025.

    Mining and quarrying (47.5%), Building (29.8%) and Lodging and meals service actions (29.0%), recorded inflation charges above the nationwide common (28.5%).

    In distinction, Water provide, sewerage, and waste administration exercise recorded the bottom charge of 4.8% in January 2025.

    Manufacturing Sub-Sector

    In January 2025, three of the 23 main teams within the manufacturing sub-sector recorded inflation charges greater than the Sector’s common of 19.9%.

    The Manufacture of fundamental metals recorded the very best inflation charge of 49.5%, adopted by the Manufacture of motor autos, trailers and semi-trailers at 35.8 p.c, and the manufacture of leather-based and associated merchandise.

    Providers Sub-Sector

    The Service producer worth inflation within the Transport and Storage sub-sector decreased by 1.1 share factors from 23.1% in December 2024 to 22.0% in January 2025.

    The Lodging and Meals Providers sub-sector charge additionally decreased by 1.4 share factors from 30.4% in December 2024 to 29.0% in January 2025.

    The Data and Communication sub-sector recorded an inflation charge of 4.2% for January 2025.
